Micro Fiction Story

 (FICTION)

Hi my name is Millie and I am 30 years old. I love to volunteer at my local church with the less fortunate people. I volunteer at the soup counter, they come up and get soup for free. I really enjoy working here because I get to help others and meet all sorts of new people and learn there stories. One of my favorite person that comes to the soup kitchen is Yolanda. She does not have a lot of friends on the streets, so I love to just sit down and talk to her. She tells me all sorts of stories. One being how she was just minding her own business in a train station, just there to get warm. She had just bought a really cheap phone that day. Some mean person came by and took her brand new phone right out of her hands and ran away. She had a sprained ankle at the time so she could not run, she barley would walk. So after all the money she had been saving for the past five months was taken away from her. I bought her a new phone because I was looking for something nice to do.

One day I saw Yolanda in the train station, sitting there minding her business. I decided it was a good idea to keep walking by to see if she would notice me. She did and I sat down next to her and started talking. I had to catch a train at six and it was five so I had a long time to wait. My phone was on one percent and I really needed to call my work and tell them that I will be late. If I did not call my work and tell them the whole story why I am going to be late then I would be fired. My work is very strict. So Yolanda’s phone was right next to her and I kept looking at it because I wanted it back. I knew I should not have gave it to her. There is not reason for that but I should have kept it for me or not even  bought it. I checked my phone and it was completely dead. I knew I had to do something. I took Yolanda’s phone and ran to the train stop. I carried on with my wonderful day, that day.
